Welcome! I am Brian Vees, and this website is dedicated to advertising my skills pertaining to software design/development, as well as providing potential employers access to my resume and additional information.

I have more than 10 years of professional experience performing a plethora of tasks in the IT world, most notably in the fields of web programming, database integration/administration, and reporting. Outside of the workplace, I have spent the last decade programming primarily in C# and C++ developing a vast assortment of applications (view Projects for more info). I have a Bachelors of Computer Science degree from the University of Nevada Reno.

With regards to website development, I program using very clean HTML and CSS utilizing W3C standards. I am very well-versed in JavaScript, and have written many sites that utilize AJAX. For web applications, I am very experienced in using ASP.NET. I also have some experience with PHP and Ruby, as well as classic ASP.  For intranets and portals, I have worked extensively with SharePoint.

Interfacing applications with databases is something that I've done quite a bit of, and so I have spent an extensive amount of time in the field of database development and administration. I have on numerous occasions created database models, and then implemented them from the ground up using various versions of MSSQL as well as MySQL. I am skilled in writing complex T-SQL queries, and I have written many reports against MSSQL databases using SSRS. I also have worked with SSIS packages, and have received training working with MDX and Oracle.
